"Black Tulip" discovered the remains of the deceased one near Sloviansk

"Black Tulip" Humanitarian Mission continues its work.

During continual questioning of local residents in the ATO zone, the volunteers have recently received the information on a possible burial site of the unknown in the area of Serhiyivka village.

18th May 2017, in the result of processing the received information and a conducted reconnaissance, a group of ''Black Tulip'' volunteers localized the burial site and found the deceased one.  

Under the leadership of the National Police, along with forensic experts, the volunteers conducted the body's exhumation of the deceased.

The unknown was at the depth of 10 sm, wrapped in a mosquito net for snipers. His body proved to be partially skeletonized. He was dressed in a camouflage jacket and trouzers. On both sleeves there were sewed-on pieces from George ribbons in the form of the Latin letter "V". No personal things were discovered at the deceased one.

Thanks to the cooperation and assistance of the National Police, the volunteers of "Black Tulip" carried out all works in accordance with the Ukrainian legislation. After the exhumation, the body of the unknown was transported to the morgue of Sloviansk town for an expert examination and DNA sampling.

"Black Tulip" Humanitarian Mission (project of Union People's Memory NGO) started its work on the 2nd September, 2014. During this time there were examined more than 70 settlements, found and taken out the bodies of 810 deceased soldiers.  

The Mission is implemented with the support of the Embassy of Switzerland in Ukraine and the International Committee of the Red Cross.
