Day of Unity of Ukraine at the banks of the Dnieper

On the 22nd of January one annually celebrates the Day of Unity of Ukraine. On this day in 1919 there was signed the Act of reunification of the Ukrainian Republic (UPR) and the Western Ukrainian People's Republic (WUPR) into a single Ukrainian state.

On the occasion of this holiday, in Kakhovka town of Kherson Region there took place a solemn event. The meeting took place at the bank of the Dnieper, near the monument to hetman Bogdan Ruzhitskiy.

It was attended by the representatives of the town Council, district Council, education personnel and pupils of Kakhovka schools. Also, there came pupils of Sokol military-patriotic club, the mentor and chief of which is Kakhovka military-historical club (NGO "Union "People's Memory").

One should note that searchers of Kakhovka club are the members of "Black Tulip" Humanitarian mission. Doing volunteer work for many years, they impart their knowledge and experience to young generations. Today, they have all gathered to honor the memory of the Ukrainians who deceased at the South-East fronts.

The meeting was held a short time. The emcee said about the celebration of the Day of Unity, then spoke mayor Andrey Dyachenko.

The event ended in a minute of silence and floral tribute.
